Genuine Dorset sea shell carefully hand wrapped in copper wire and finished with opaque sky blue and pearly glass beads.
I collected this natural shell while beachcombing at Lyme Regis, UK, before wrapping it with hand-oxidised copper wire.
This gently curved fragment of shell probably came from a large cockle. It has been naturally worn by the sea into its present shape, removing any sharp edges but retaining its original texture and colour. The beads are salvaged from old jewellery.
The piece is wrapped in aged copper wire, which is a bare copper which I have oxidised (tarnished) and then lightly polished to an antique shine. The pendant is then buffed with a protective wax to preserve the finish.
