Genuine Dorset sea shell carefully hand wrapped in copper wire and finished with a salvaged blue glass bead.
I collected this natural shell while beachcombing at Weymouth, UK, before wrapping it with hand-oxidised copper wire.
This whelk shell has been weathered to a smooth white finish, but still retains a hint of its original texture and colours. It has not been polished or drilled- the wire has been threaded through existing natural holes in the shell.
The piece is wrapped in aged copper wire, which is a bare copper which I have oxidised (tarnished) and then lightly polished to an antique shine. The pendant is then buffed with a protective wax to preserve the finish.
